Constitution Amendment Passed At Special Meeting & Vote

The Proposed Constitution Amendment passed at the March 26, 2022 Special Meeting and Vote of the Tribal Council, by unanimous vote and will be adopted. 

The members of the Shawnee Tribe Election Committee have conducted a count of ballots cast from the vote on the proposed Amendment to Section 1 of Article XII of the Shawnee Tribe Constitution. The Election Committee certifies that the vote totals represented in the Return are a true and accurate count of those votes for the following question:

Shall the proposed Amendment be adopted?

60 – YES

0 – NO

Furthermore, Amendments to the Shawnee Tribe Constitution require a two-thirds majority vote of those eligible and present for passage. With a total of 60 votes cast, a two-thirds majority is 40, and with 60 voting YES, the proposed Amendment to the Shawnee Constitution hereby Passes

This Certified Election Return shall be permanently filed in the Tribal office and posted at all Tribal governmental buildings for thirty (30) days.
